Games With Gold January 2017: Xbox One & Xbox 360 Free Game Lineup Confirmed
Gloven RamosThis month of January, Games with Gold collection is again available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. For this first week, two games are now already available for the consoles.
"World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap" and "The Cave" for Xbox One and Xbox 360 respectively, are confirmed available on Jan. 1, 2017. In the second half of the month, another two games will be released for the program.
Games with Gold is a program where every month a new group of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games become available with no extra charge to Xbox Live Gold members. You can keep playing them as long as you have an active Gold subscription.
The two games will be available this month for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and they join the lineup of previously released games like "Killer Instinct: Season 2 Ultra Edition" and "Rayman Origins." According to MSPowerUser, "Killer Instinct: Season 2" is particularly interesting, while this is technically downloadable for a free to play game, its DLC packs are batches of new playable characters and they're big enough that they're packaged up and sold at retail.
Xbox 360 users with active Xbox Live Gold may download the games during their respective availability periods. The games will remain available to users even if they discontinue their Xbox Live Gold membership.
Unlike the Xbox 360 users with Games with Gold releases, the Xbox One users should maintain their subscription in Xbox Live Gold Membership in order to keep their access to the downloaded games. Their access will be suspended if they drop their membership, unless they reinstate the subscription or purchase the game outright.
Express cited Games with Gold January 2017 doesn't quite pack the same pucnch; although fans are still expected to take advantage of this offer. For now, gamers can look forward to what free games out for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One as part of the free program for the month.
