Asus Announces Its Latest Product Lines Powered by Intel's Latest Kaby Lake Processor
Cores Grace MalaayAsus has announced the updates to its major laptop, desktop and 2-in-1 product lineup integrating Intel's Kaby Lake processor for improved performance, efficiency gains and battery life. The product lines were revealed on Jan. 3 at CES 2017, which includes the new Transformer Pro 2-in-1, new Asus ZenBook models and three new version of Zen AiO all-in-one desktop.
The Verge reports that Asus' update also includes its GT51CH gaming desktop that features the seventh-generation Intel chip. As for Kaby Lake, it is Intel's second tock in its ‘tick-tock' chip strategy, which is basically a modified version of Skylake architecture - an optimization of the 14nm Broadwell design.
Intel's generation of chip only offers incremental upgrades and not the type of sizable leap that people might relate it with a brand new gen of processor. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that Kaby Lake doesn't provide evident boosts as Intel explains that the chip can pull off double-digit percentage point enhancements in application speed as well as web performance.
Moreover, Kaby Lake is ten times more competent compared to Intel's first-gen core processor while Skylake was around eight times proficient. These incremental upgrades are still crucial as well as the first steps in PC ecosystem evolution.
On the other hand, the ZenBook UX510 now also features the latest NVidia graphics for better graphics performance compared to the UX330, according to MSPowerUser. It also comes with a 4K display, which is 2.3 inches bigger than UX330's 13.3 inches display.
Here's the full list of Asus product lineups with pricing and availability via the Verge. It doesn't include the GT51CH gaming desktop since the company hasn't released details yet.
The ZenBook UX330 laptop starting at $749 is available now, with ZenBook UX310 laptop starting at $699 (available now), ZenBook UX510 laptop starting at $999 (available now), ZenBook Flip UX360UA 2-in-1 starting at $899 (available May 2017). The Transformer Pro T304 2-in-1 starting at $999 becomes available in May 2017, Zen AiO Pro Z240IE all-in-one desktop starting at $1,799 (available May 2017), Zen AiO ZN270IE all-in-one desktop starting at $999 (available May 2017) and Zen AiO ZN241IC all-in-one desktop starting at $999 (available May 2017).
