Amazon Echo Tips: How To Use Alexa To Make Life Easier At Home
Arianne GiftThose who have bought themselves an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot know by now how amazing of a woman Alexa is. Amazon's voice-controlled AI assistant and her growing number of skills have serviced millions of people already, and you can even set up multiple Dots throughout your home.
You may have already programmed Alexa to do a number of things, but here are some ways to use your Amazon Echo anyway, in case you need more ideas. To those who plan on buying one or two (or more!), here's how you can make full use of Alexa.
Begin The Day With Alexa
"Alexa, what's on for today?" A simple command like that can give you lots of information already, believe it or not. If you place an Amazon Echo in your bedroom, you'll be able to start the morning right by merely asking the AI what your activities for the day are, the current weather, traffic schedules and a whole lot more. You can also ask Alexa to set the alarm for you, and get it on repeat.
Alexa Works Great In The Kitchen
According to Android Central, one of the most popular areas around the house to use an Amazon Echo is in the kitchen. If you're not very good in remembering how long it takes before your dinner gets burnt, let Alexa set the timer for you. The fem-bot can also convert measurement units, and of course, order takeout!
"Alexa, Where's My Phone?"
It's all sorts of embarrassing, but yes, people actually lose their phones around the house. Let that be a thing of the past with the Amazon Echo. Simply ask Alexa to locate your phone using the TrackR app. First, activate Alexa's phone-tracking skills by saying "Alexa, enable the Find My Phone skill." Go the app and follow the process on how to integrate Alexa. What's great is, the AI assistant will be able to locate it even if your phone is silent.
Improve your Amazon Echo by looking into some IF This Then That (IFTTT) applets. To learn how to set up your very own assistant, check out Mobile & Apps' how-to.
