Pokemon GO Gen 2 News & Updates: Hatching Evolved Forms Proved Impossible, And Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos Could Be Coming This Spring
Rei Lantion"Pokemon GO" has proven to be a roller coaster ride so far - for both the players and the creators. When it was first released, it broke five new world records, including most revenue grossed by a mobile game in its first month and most downloaded mobile game in its first month. Since then, it's fair to say that interest has waned. Most players have already "caught 'em all," and those who haven't just don't see the appeal anymore.
The "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 update hopes to change that. According to iTech Post, the update was originally meant to add 100 new Pokemon to the game. However, since December 12 last year, the biggest addition to the roster has been baby Pokemon and nothing else. There are rumors that game developer Niantic plans to release these 100 new Pokemon gradually over the coming months, but they remain as speculations at best.
The end of the Holiday event also means that single-use incubators will no longer be available at Pokestops. This severely limits players to the number of eggs they can hatch at a time.
On the topic of hatching issues, complaints have come up regarding failure to hatch the evolved forms of baby Pokemon. Researchers from "The Silph Road", a dedicated "Pokemon GO" community site that maps out Pokemon nests in different countries conducted a study on 1,621 eggs collectively amassed since December 12 to address that issue. Of that number, not one research was able to hatch an evolved form of a baby Pokemon, nor was one able to hatch a regional Pokemon.
While that may be cause for alarm for many players, Ecumenical News posits that this could be an indicator that Niantic is already preparing for future Pokemon evolutions, which a newer update will hopefully provide. Fan theories are also pointing towards three new Pokemon to usher in spring, namely the legendary birds Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos.
It's important to note that Niantic has neither confirmed nor denied any details regarding "Pokemon Go Gen 2" update. At best, these claims, no matter how promising, remain purely speculation.
