Samsung remained true to its words when it announced the iOS support for its lines of smartwatches including Gear S2, Gear S3 and Gear Fit 2. All of these advance wristwatches can now be synched with gadgets running on iOS.

The compatibility with iPhone has been confirmed and the Samsung Gear S app is going to available on Apple app store soon. The Korean tech giant first announced about the iOS support in the last part of 2015. At that time, it made the promise to let iPhone users sync their devices to Samsung's range of smartwatch.

Tech Radar reported that the app was originally scheduled for launching in January 2016 but it did not happen. Experts believe that the delay was due to technical issues and Samsung does not want to release something that is not perfect yet. In the end, the improvements and additional testings took up another year to finish.

At any rate, the official announcement was posted on Samsung mobile website and it detailed how Samsung will provide support for the Gear S series. Incidentally, the new Samsung Gear S app will allow the synchronization of the Gear watches and iOS devices, however it should be noted that the connection will not work on all iPhone.

Only iPhone units starting from the fifth version (iPhone 5) up to the latest phone models, and at least running on iOS 9.0 are eligible for the syncing feature. Once the app has been downloaded, it needs to be set-up properly for the iOS support to work in the way it should.

If you would like to pair your iOS device with any of the Samsung Gear S smartwatch, here are steps to follow for easy syncing: Download the app from either Samsung or Apple app store. Once downloaded, find the "Connect to Gear" button and tap it once. The connection between the devices will automatically begin.

Finally, there is no official date yet as to when the Samsung Gear S app will drop but Samsung stated that it will provide updates and link to the downloading page as soon as arrives.
