Xiaomi Unveiled Latest TV at CES, the Mi TV 4, And Its Thinner Than Your iPhone
Cris Xander JulianoThe Chinese company, Xiaomi, made people's head turn at the CES 2017 with its unveiling of its latest TV, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 that is thinner than your iPhone 7 or your Google Pixel with even less bezel, according to a report by Phandroid.
According to the report, the TV is insanely thin at only 4.9mm thick, thinner than your iPhone 7 at 7.1mm and Google Pixel at 7.6mm and with almost no bezel. The TV also has a built-in AI system that gives viewers personalized suggestions called the PatchWall Advanced AI. Xiaomi stated, "a large amount of metadata about movies and TV shows, cross-referenced with your own history to make intelligent content recommendations tailored to you." The TV is powered by Android.
According to a report by BGR, the Xiaomi Mi TV 4 will come in three sizes; 49 inches, 55 inches and 65 inches. All the electronics were relocated to the included Mi TV Bar that allowed Xiaomi to build a TV that's just a screen. Additionally, the Mi TV Bar has 10 speakers, two wireless rear satellite speakers and a subwoofer and is connected to the TV with a single cable called the Mi Port, which transmits all the signals to and from the TV. It is also compatible with the Dolby Atmos.
The TV has a modular design, which means you can separately upgrade the motherboard and other components which are cheaper than the display.
There is some bad news though; the Mi TV 4 will only be available in China and probably won't make it in the U.S. The TV will go for under $2,000 and will ship in China this year.
