The year 2017 is the very first time that Xiaomi has ever participated in the Consumer Electronics Show. The Chinese tech company has managed to hold off from participating from the event for seven years -- having been founded in 2010.
Since the official announcement that Xiaomi will be taking part in CES 2017, multiple news outlets have been constantly covering the devices that will be launched. Apart from the launch of the white version of its bezel-less smartphone - the Mi Mix, Xiaomi is also bringing out a very thin TV.
This new TV is so thin that Engadget has reported it to be even thinner than the aforementioned Mi Mix and the iPhone. Dubbed the Mi TV 4, its screen barely has any bezels as well and its skinniest point is only 4.9 millimeters wide.
In addition to being extremely thin, Xiaomi's Mi TV 4 will come with an independent home theater system that is equipped with Dolby Atmos Surround Sound technology. With 3D sound capabilities, Mi TV 4 users can hear the sound of an airplane from overhead or footsteps of a person walking from behind, instead of hearing it from a regular TV's side speakers.
The Mi TV 4 from Xiaomi is only one of the super-thin TVs that were revealed at this year's CES. As another report has pointed out, LG has also showed off its own slim TV. The Korea-based device maker has been unveiling 4K TVs with new OLED technology year after year, and this year is no different.
Its latest slim TV is only 2.6 millimeters thin across its entire frame. It comes from LG's W-Series 4K sets and the TV itself has been dubbed "Picture on Wall." Its name is deemed fitting, considering that users of this TV from LG will have to mount the set completely flat against their wall.
