'Pokemon Sun And Moon' Fan Theories: Normal Type Pokemon Komala Could Just Be A Sentient Log Of Wood [VIDEO]; Here's Why

The lauded Pokemon Sun and Moon is no stranger to weird fan theories, but this latest one which suggests that Komala is not a koala surpasses them all. Brace yourselves if you thought this claim was a bit outlandish, as things are likely to get weirder.

Some Pokemon fans believe Komala is actually a responsive log of wood and there are mounting shreds of evidence that seem to uphold this claim. This is not the first time a fan theory has stirred conversations among avid fans of the franchise but with the release of "Pokemon Sun And Moon," fans have been taking their theories to the next level.

For instance, the theory to explain Pikachu's doppelganger Mimikyu was indeed disturbing. Aside from that, there have been theories suggesting that the player character is the rival of the game in reality rather than the cheery hero.

As far as fan ideas about normal type Pokemon Komala, which bears a striking resemblance to a koala clinging to a log is concerned, some fans claim the koala part of the Pokemon is not the clingy one, on the contrary, the log is the real Pokemon, Game Rant reported.

Recently, several "Pokemon Sun And Moon" fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts about this recently surfaced fan theory centering on Komala. Quite a few of them seemed to be in unison with the idea with some going as far as claiming that Komala is a normal type because it is a normal log.

Some other Pokemon fans cited Komala's "Comatose" ability to give to the new fan theory their seal of approval. Comatose enables Komala to attack as though it is catching some zzz's and it does not get troubled by status effects (such as burns) either, according to Polygon.

Meanwhile, there's word about Komala's shiny variation floating around indicating that shiny Komala's log switches from brown to pink without any sort of visible change happening to the bear attached to it.

Other Pokemon show minor palette swaps in their shiny forms too. But last month walking animations for each coveted Pokemon surfaced online showing the bear's body motionless while walking and just the log part seemed to be in motion.

This was enough to fuel all sorts of speculations surrounding the normal type Pokemon in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" that many now believe is nothing more than a sentient log.
