Samsung Gear Smartwatches, Now Equipped with iOS Apps!
RommelSamsung Gear smartwatches was released several years ago to rival primarily Apple iWatch - but it seems like there is more to conquer than when it was released. Compatibility and flexibility are definitely one of the keys to remaining vital in the market and Samsung had championed in this category for all other devices it had released in the past.
Now, Samsung Gear smartwatches are finally going to be compatible for non-Android users, particularly those who use iOS. In fact, Samsung had released the much-anticipated iOS applications which are dedicated to the Gear wearable accessories. The Gear S2 and Gear S3 are the smartwatches where these iOS applications will be compatible with.
Aside from the Gear S2 and S3 Smartwatches, Samsung Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker will also be available with the iOS application that they released just earlier. Before this, the Gear devices were only Android-ready and can only be used in Android devices. Now, these two new applications enable people to set up and match the device with an iPhone.
According to Samsung, this move is their answer to various user queries on how they can use their smashing Smartwatches with their iPhones. Samsung admittedly thinks that it would increase the market they would cater as the Gear S application allows users to download and install applications on the smartwatches. Push notifications are also enabled from the phone to the watch.
This makes it easier for any Samsung Gear smartwatch user to sync health and fitness information using the S Health app. Moreover, the Gear Fit application also supports iPhone notifications to the device and also sync health data to S Health.
Up to this moment, the new applications provide full iOS compatibility to the wearable devices produced by Samsung for the first time but still does not support the entire range of offerings by the company - one example of which is the IconX wireless earbuds.
