'Resident Evil 7: Biohazard' News: Game Will be the Hardest in the Series Yet, Capcom Game Designer Teases
Bee BThe upcoming installment in the "Resident Evil" franchise is coming in about two weeks but fans should expect a lot of trying times while playing. Capcomp's Hajime Horiuchi has just teased that "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will not make it easy for fans to survive the title.
In a recent interview with Xbox: The Official Magazine, Hajime Horiuchi said the focus of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is fear. According to Gaming Bolt, the Capcom game designer went on to explain that the difficulty level in the upcoming game will be "a little higher" its predecessors. Fans shouldn't be surprised since it was "definitely intentional."
It turns out that the developing team came up with the idea that if they created a game that was too easy for fans to accomplish, players will no longer feel the tension and anxiety that comes with survival horror games. Horiuchi added that in "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," one player can be pitted against an opponent that's capable of destroying the player.
Xbox Culture notes that the earlier installments in the "Resident Evil" series had a similar note. The titles were packed with tension, giving fans the feeling of hoping that there would be no enemies ahead. The latter games, on the other hand, focused more on action, reverting from the old days when one opponent could take a player out. It appears that in "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard," fans will relive memories of the first installments in the horror franchise.
The outlet further points out that Horiuchi's latest remarks could add up to previous interviews with the developers wherein they stated that a player can be killed multiple times in the game. This scenario is very much bringing back the hit series to its beginnings, where surviving was much harder than killing enemies.
"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is slated to land on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on January 24. Hajime Horiuchi's full interview with Xbox: The Official Magazine is also out for fans to purchase now.
