The CES 2017 became the show for presenting this never-ending rivalry, where Samsung introduced its new quantum dot light-emitting diode (QLED) technology for HDTVs which the company boasts that it will be better than LG's OLED- organic light-emitting diode TVs.

LG's VC Says QLED Just An LCD Panel With Better Luminance

Han Sang-beom, the Vice Chairman at LG Display, said that the only change that the technology from Samsung has brought its luminance where QLED's luminance varies with the backlight. He also said that though Samsung has improved the QLED Technology it comes down to mere LCD panel and not more as the QLED is not self-emissive whereas the OLED is a self-light emitting one, as reported by Androidheadline.

LG Unveils New Crystal Sound OLED (CSO)

He also added that though QLED offers better colour reproduction, LG's IPS Nanotechnology is also capable of expanding its color range. He said that the company would double its production in 2017 targeting premium LCD market. The company will be focusing on business and auto application with its new Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) that brings a sound system within the OLED panel. This makes the sound effect remarkable than the one users will get from external speakers, as reported by Stuff.
