'Pokemon Sun & Moon' Alola Friendly Competition Rules Detailed; Legendary Pokemon Are Out
Dannel Picaccio Camille Perez LozanoGame Freak's "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is up to make another online competition for those willing to put their creatures to the test. After the success of its predecessor game, the event is bound to take another season by storm.
December 2016 showed promise with the release of "Battle of Alola," the online event that gave the involved trainers a reward of 50 Battle Points, provided that they underwent a minimum of three battles. These are considered vital in acquiring the best battle items in "Pokemon Sun and Moon."
As per Pokemon Global Link, the Alola Friendly event is scheduled to happen on January 27 to January 29, with sign-ups to begin on January 19 to January 26. There are some regulations to follow, however, some of which differ from the previous tournament. To start with, the competition will imply a Single Battle Format.
Another factor to take note of is that players must only use Pokemon from the Alolan Pokedex, as well as the prohibition of Mega Stones. Items are permitted, although Trainers are not to have duplicate items within their Battle Team. Three to six Pokemon between Level 1-100 can be put in the Battle Team, in which three of them will be chosen to battle in each match.
Trainers are required to have a Pokemon Trainer Club membership, wireless Internet connection and either "Pokemon Sun" or "Pokemon Moon" game with a Game Sync ID registered in the Pokemon Global Link. One of the unfortunate rules of the game, however, is that both Mythical and Legendary Pokemon types are not allowed.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" promised new Pokemon to adhere to the Alola Region theme given to it, as per Serebii. Different Alolan forms were also released for the first generation Pokemon, as well, depending on their other abilities.
