‘The King of Fighters XIV’ DLC Live On PS4; Get Free Athena Asamiya Themes; Ver. 1.10 Patch Details
Arianne GiftCreators of "The King of Fighters XIV" are still hung up from the holidays as the game's DLC goes live for free. As part of the game's special Christmas and Holiday Season promotion, a new DLC costume and Original PS4 themes for Athena Asamiya can be downloaded for free for a limited time.
Athena's DLC costume is inspired by her look from 1998. Over the years, the pop idol has gone through numerous makeovers, but her iconic '98 look has always been a popular choice among fans, PlayStation Lifestyle notes. Among the original PS4 themes to be included is the "Athena All Stars" theme, which features Athena's fashion phases over the years, as well as a "Santa Girls" theme as an extended holiday cheer. "The King of Fighters XIV" DLC costume had been available since December 22, 2016 and will remain free to download until January 22, 2017 for all PS4 owners.
Meanwhile, producer Yasuyuki Oda took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming Ver. 1.10 patch for "The King of Fighters XIV." "Our development team has been working hard to respond to some of the feedback we have received from fans. Ver. 1.10 marks a large step forward in improving the game's visual presentation in particular," Oda said via the PlayStation Blog.
The Ver. 1.10 patch will improve the overall visuals for "The King of Fighters XIV;" shaders and lighting have been upgraded. The producer added that they have applied color variations for the characters and an increase in total number per character from 4 to 6 should be expected.
"This is just the start of our plans for The King of Fighters XIV going forward, and we have even more reveals planned for 2017 and beyond," Oda said on a final note. Ver. 1.10 is planned to launch on January 11, 2017 and a demo for Ver. 2 is also being prepared for players before the official release. The upcoming update will be featured in the "The King of Fighters XIV" World Championship event in Tokyo on February 18, 2017.
