Facebook And Messenger Drasticly Drains Your Battery Life; Here's What You Need To Do
Jason GlennThe mobile apps for Facebook and Messenger has had a lot of major changes when it comes to its features as well as its interface. One of these is Messenger's new camera feature where the users can send photos and stickers, similar to Snapchat.
However, these updates on Facebook and Messenger caused a lot of drastic battery draining issues to the users. Android Authority reports that users who discovered the battery problems posted the issue online, claiming that the Facebook Apps consumed "uncharacteristically high levels" of battery life from their devices.
The battery issues on Facebook were unnoticed, but later on the Vice President of Messaging Products from Facebook, David Marcus acknowledged the issue on his Twitter account. "@bestsportnascar @alxpap issue was isolated and fixed server side. If you restart Messenger the problem should be gone now. Very sorry." Marcus said in his tweet.
All you have to do, if your experiencing this kind of issue is to restart the Facebook or Messenger apps by swiping the app from the recent apps menu reopen them. Even if you are playing some games with your friends, Facebook will still be draining your batteries as well as playing them on the Messenger app.
If your still encountering the same problems you need to reinstall the apps. Marcus also suggest to use the official Facebook app instead of the beta version, even though the battery issue affects both. His reply to one user in Twitter read: "@alxpap maybe you should get out of beta and use the main prod cut. Betas always have less optimization by nature. But will look it up!"
