Nintendo Famicom Mini Has Hidden Secret Message For Hackers
JulianneRecently, Nintendo NES Classic Edition was hacked over the weekend when one hacker added more games to the said gaming console. Today, more interesting news from the Japanese company when its counterpart, the Nintendo Famicom Mini, had a secret hidden message found by a Redditor.
According to Engadget, the message was created by someone called "Hanafuda Captain", saying a short reminder to all gamers of the said gaming console. The message reads, "Many efforts, tears, and countless hours have been spent into this jewel. So, please keep this place tidied up and don't break everything."
Obviously, the developers left a hidden message on the said gaming console emulator hoping someone might break in and they were actually right. The said message was a cute, tongue-in-cheek message that brings back to Nintendo's history and acknowledges the passion that went on making such games.
The message was discovered by a Redditor user durmoo, which then the Redditor shared the message to the online forum. The developers respectfully asked if hackers won't be so violent and break anything to keep the sanctity of the Nintendo Famicom Mini.
Furthermore, Slash Gear reports that the title "Hanafuda Captain" is a reference to the early days of Nintendo, long before the company made games. For those who may not know, Nintendo was founded in 1889, 85 year before the rise of any technology present today.
For the first 70 years of the Japanese company's work, Nintendo produced and marketed a card game called Hanafuda in Japan, making the company popular at the time. Until now, Nintendo is still making Hanafuda cards in Japan even with their main income is video games and gaming consoles.
The message certainly brings back it's to the company's roots and making sure that Nintendo is true to their past and beginnings. There hasn't been a confirmation whether the mentioned message is also present within the Nintendo NES Classic Edition. But someday, someone may also break into the said console.
