iOS 10.2.1 And macOS 10.12.3 Beta 4 Available For Developers And Public Beta Testers [VIDEO]
Pia MerciToday, Apple seeded two new beta builds to developers providing a slew of bug fixes sand improvements to macOS 10.2.3 and iOS 10.2.1. Just three days after Apple dropped its first batch of betas for this year, the new builds came in.
egistered developers will now be able to download iOS 10.2.1 beta 4 and macOS 10.12.3 beta 4 from Apple's developer center or over-the-air, with the proper configuration profile installed, to exploit all of the new features. The initial beta was released on December 14 with a second beta issued before the holiday break while a third beta version was released at the start of this week.
Major changes or feature additions are not mentioned as per the new builds' release notes. However, they are likely to focus solely on maintenance.
"Stability, compatibility and security" improvements were stated in the release notes and no specific focus areas for testers. Apple continues smashing bugs and smoothing out the experience in these forthcoming software updates for the iPad, iPod touch, iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac devices.
In addition, a new iOS 10.3 beta has been allegedly reported for this week and may have a new Theater Mode toggle accessible in part thru Control Center ahead of iOS 11 later this year. Note that under-the-hood changes were the main focus in the past beta builds of iOS 10.2.1 and macOS 10.12.3 rather than outward or UI changes, Cult of Mac reported.
iOS 10.2 and macOS 10.12.2 are Apple's last updates wherein both added some big features to iOS and Mac devices. Some of the features were over 100 added new emoji, improvements to the Message app, new wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The firmware also added a new TV app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, additional music sorting options and dedicated buttons for Repeat and Shuffle in the Music app, an option for preserving Camera settings and more.
