'Nintendo Switch' Online Subscribers: Free NES/SNES Games Monthly!
Rommel"Nintendo Switch" live event definitely blew a lot of minds with the entire gaming system unfolding excellently in front of everyone's eyes. And now, Nintendo announced that they will be enforcing new service policies for their gaming console, a switch to the subscription-based online service. Aside from enabling the gamers to play online, another perk is that all subscribers are entitled to one free game per month!
It was not deliberately said during the presentation earlier but Nintendo website announced that subscribers of the "Nintendo Switch" online service will be receiving free NES or SNES game downloads every single month. While that sounds like a great thing, it implies that players will only have access to the game for that single month and only for as long as the gamer is subscribed. This is similar to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold.
A lot of players are also looking forward to the online play as Nintendo website revealed that subscribers will be allowed to download and play a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or Super Nintendo Entertainment System game along with additional online pay for free for a month. That is the exact scope of the online play, but still, it is ambiguous and not certain at this moment.
The said feature is a very important detail which confirms player's ability to play the NES and SNES games on Switch. No mention of Virtual Console was explained in the presentation tonight. The Nintendo site does not identify if the games are free as provided from their services. Exclusive discounts are also in line for Switch online subscribers on their online store aside from the online play and free games. This fall, a smart device app and other deals are expected to come. Nintendo plans to offer free trial starting on March and prices have not been announced yet. For those who have not watched the live presentation, check it here:
