GoPro Hero 5 Black vs GoPro Hero 5 Session Specs and Features: Which is a Better Action Camera Option for 2017?
Nens MitchellSome adventure-loving people and travelers are still torn over what GoPro Hero 5 camera model to buy for their trips. The year 2017 has arrived and action camera enthusiasts have weighed on the two choices.
Released in September 2016, both the GoPro Hero 5 Black and Session came with a 4K video shooting capability and are waterproof up to 33 feet. Users of the GoPro Hero will not need to buy an additional underwater accessory since the device itself can already be used for water adventures.
GoPro Hero 5 Black
Sold at a higher price of $399, the GoPro Hero 5 Black is also the bigger option since it houses a 2-inch touchscreen. Through this, users will be able to see the appearance of their photos and videos using their the screen at the back of their action camera.
There are also three buttons to control the settings of the camera and its display. The GoPro Hero 5 Black also has a bigger 1220mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery which is also removable.
The 12MP lens of the GoPro Hero 5 Black can capture videos up to 30 frames per second. There is also less movement in the video because of the stabilization feature of the action camera.
GoPro Hero 5 Session
Doing away with the touchscreen at the back of the camera, the GoPro Hero 5 Session is a lot smaller and also cheaper ar $299. It looks just like a cube and is very handy especially during trips.
GoPro Hero 5 Session's battery is at 1000mAH which is a bit lower than the Hero5 Black. The battery pack also cannot be removed from the body of the action camera.
The two GoPro Hero 5 models can be both charged using a USB-C port but the Hero5 Black also has an HDMI connector giving users the chance to directly connect the device into a monitor or a television. They also both have slots for a microSD card.
Another great feature of the GoPro Hero 5 releases is voice control. This allows owners to take photos and videos by simply using voice commands. Which of the two GoPro Hero 5 cameras do you think is better? Let us know in the comments below!
