Microsoft Surface Phone Release Updates & Specs: Upcoming Handset Could Appear Like A Phablet
Nens MitchellOne of the most anticipated smartphones this year is the Microsoft Surface Phone. It is thought to be a powerful handset that could look like a tablet.
Phablet design
Recent leaks of the Microsoft Surface Phone showed that the device could have the size of a phablet which is almost similar to the Nokia Lumia XL variants. This means that users of the smartphone will have a bigger display to use when it comes out soon.
Specs and features
Also, the Microsoft Surface Phone is thought to have the Snapdragon 835 processor, which was recently unveiled at the CES 2017. Apart from this, the features will also be paired with an 8GB of RAM and a 512GB internal memory. There is also the big possibility that the 3.5mm audio jack will be retained but the Microsoft Surface Phone could do away with the USB-C port.
Possible release period
Earlier reports indicated that the Microsoft Surface Phone could come out in October 2017 but there is still the possibility for it to release sooner. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has also said that their upcoming offering may just be the "ultimate mobile device" since it will run on the Windows 10 Mobile platform.
Because of its tablet's look, Microsoft could also offer desktop applications and functionality on the device. It is also believed to come with a mouse and an external keyboard for easier use.
Camera features
As for its camera, the Microsoft Surface Phone is rumored to have a 21MP main camera and an 8MP secondary shooter on the front for clearer and sharper photos. Users also expect the device to have a fast-charging feature.
A fingerprint scanner is also likely and this could be placed on the screen itself. This feature will provide mores security to users of the Microsoft Surface Phone. What other features do you expect from the mobile release of Microsoft?
