Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka died on Sunday at the age of 73 years. He was suffering from terminal stomach cancer and dementia. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson announced the news of his death on social media. Rock was a close friend of Snuka and is also related to Anoa'i family, the famed "Samoan Dynasty" of wrestlers. He posted,

"Our family @TaminaSnuka asked me to share the sad news that her dad Jimmy Snuka has just passed away. Alofa atu i le aiga atoa. #RIPSuperfly."

A few weeks back the case against Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka was dismissed after his lawyers argued that he had dementia and had only months to live due to cancer. Snuka was charged with involuntary manslaughter and third-degree murder of his girlfriend Nancy Argentino in 1983, as reported by Mirror.

Nancy was taken to hospital with a yellow liquid oozing out of her mouth and died the next day. She had spent the previous night in a hotel room with Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka. Prosecutors have alleged that she was beaten and the injuries led to her death whereas the WWE superstar had maintained that she died from a fall.

James Wiley Smith Reiher, a.k.a Snuka was named a person of interest by the investigation team. The charges were never proved, and the case went cold. However, in 2015 a grand jury concluded that Snuka was responsible for injuries that caused the death of his girlfriend, as reported by Fox.

Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka has always maintained that he was innocent. He had even mentioned in his autobiography that he had never threatened or hit Nancy. Jimmy had risen to fame alongside Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and other superstars of the 1970s. He was inducted into WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. However, his Hall of Fame page was removed after the murder accusations.

The WWE superstar will be remembered for his high-flying style in the ring. He is survived by his two children, Jimmy Reiher Jr and Tamina, both of whom are wrestlers.
