The Android Creator Is Building His Own Flagship Smartphone With Some Unexpected Specs
Hemal VoraAndy Rubin the mastermind behind the world's top most smartphone operating system, sold his Android OS to Google in 2005. The Android creator left the company in 2014 to start his own venture into the industry. Reports say that Rubin, with his own company, The Essential Products Inc., is building a high-end flagship new Android phone, which is expected to mark his comeback into the smartphone industry.
The Android Creator Working On Smartphones and Tablets
Essential Products Inc.is registered with the United States Patent and Trademarking Office (USPTO) in 2016. The company is registered for goods and services such as building smartphones and tablets, their accessories and computer software. This implicates that Essential may come up with a new operating system or merely create a skin that will run on the top of the Android OS, as reported by Pocketlint.
The New Essential Smartphone Design
Reports also suggest that the new Android phone will carry an edge-to-edge screen that will be larger than 5.5-inches. However, due to the ultra-slim bezel design, the upcoming device will be smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus. Reports also say that the smartphone screen will be sensitive to a pressure similar to the iPhone Force Touch. The overall exterior of the phone will be built on high-quality metallic edges and a ceramic back panel, as reported by Bloomberg.
Essential to Bring Modules in Its Flagship
The Essential's new android phone is said to come with a special connector that will help to charge the battery. The company is also said to work on its home-built camera add-on that can shoot 360-degree photos. While the idea of modules has not been much of a success with regards to implementation, it will be exciting to see how the Android creator will bring more life to the technology.
Essential's Flagship Device Release Date and Price
Rubin is also said to have eyes on Artificial Intelligence for Essential's new Android phones. The device is expected to hit the market before the end of 2017 at a whopping price of around $649, falling in line with the iPhone 7. The company is said to have been in talks with Sprint at the CES 2017, which implicates that the device could be US exclusive.
