Looks like the newly launched Nintendo Switch keeps on getting better as top game developer Square Enix has just announced that it is currently developing a new Role Playing Game (RPG) for the hybrid game console. The new RPG will reportedly have "Octopath Traveler" as working title.

The announcement of the new RPG for Nintendo Switch was made in the official Facebook page specially opened for the "Octopath Traveler". The project will be spearheaded by Tomoya Asano. The new RPG will be developed by Bravely games under the Square Enix video game banner.

Before heading the development of "Octopath Traveler", Asano was involved in a lot of the best video games that came out under the Square Enix brand. Notable projects that Asana was involved in includes the "Final Fantasy III" and "FFXIV" for the Nintendo DS, "Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light" and "Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions".

According to the official announcement made by Asano, the "Octopath Traveler" RPG will be fully original. Asano also said that he cannot yet reveal any details or specifics about the project but video game fans should watch out for promotional media for new Nintendo Switch game in the near future.

The images shared by Asano, purportedly screen grabs of the new video game, really does have a Bravely game feel to it. The images posted on the official "Octopath Traveler" Facebook page features the quirky visual design and toned down retro style that top video game titles from Bravely all possess.

As of the moment, now details as to the target release date of the "Octopath Traveler" video game for Nintendo Switch have been revealed. Tomoya Asano ended his announcement by saying that it will be a long road for his team, possibly hinting that video game fans will not be seeing the "Octopath Traveler" for Nintendo Switch anytime soon.
