Samsung Galaxy S8 Vs. iPhone 8: Head-To-Head Comparison Of The Year's Biggest Smartphones [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelSmartphone lovers, rejoice! Leading handset makers, Apple and Samsung are slated to take the wraps off their flagship smartphones, iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 this year.
While the Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 8 smartphone, the South-Korean handset maker is reportedly gearing up to debut the equally anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 have been subject to several leaks and all sorts of rumors surrounding the devices' release date, specs and other details with multiple sources confirming that both smartphones will hit the store shelves this year. With the alleged launch dates of the new iPhone and the S8 just around the corner, here are a few head-to-head comparison for tech buffs to take a gander at.
Under the hood, the iPhone 8 is likely to pack a powerful A11 processor paired with M11 motion-co-processor. However, until the aforesaid chips hit the market, it is not possible to weigh it against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos 8995 processor that the Galaxy S8 is supposed to come with, according to KnowYourMobile.
The entry-level iPhone 8 could launch with 3GB of RAM, with the Plus variant maxing out at 4GB. The smaller version of the Galaxy S8, on the other hand, could boast 4GB RAM with the larger variant maxing out at 6GB worth of RAM, Inquisitr reported.
Storage
As far as storage options are concerned, the new iPhone is expected to max out at 256GB, beating the Galaxy S8 hands down. Nevertheless, there is still possibility that the S8 could come out with more storage. Despite only offering 64GB of internal storage, the Galaxy S8 could max out to above 300GB provided it supports 256GB SD card.
If rumors doing rounds proved to be true, the iPhone 8 will be up for grabs in three size variants including 4.7, 5.5in, and 5.8 inches. Moreover, Apple is said to adopt curved OLED displays to go along with a wrap-around, bezel-less display in a newfangled curved glass body shell.
Meanwhile, both Galaxy S8 variants are said to sport curve-edged Super AMOLED screens. There's hearsay that both models of the S8 will support 4K resolution.
