'Pokemon Go'Latest Update Might Have Added Genders To the Game
Jason GlennNiantic has released its first update after its successful Christmas and New Year event of "Pokemon Go" which features the Apple Watch display of Eggs obtained from the Poketops, minor text fixes and a changed distance tracking to better account for GPS drift. Aside from these, Niantic has reportedly added genders to the Pokemons in the game.
WWG reported that a "Pokemon Go" player from Imgur has noticed that some of their Pikachu's tail has been shaped into a heart while other of the Pikachus has retained its usual rectangular shaped tail. The heart shaped tail of the Pikachu could be a sign that that its gender maybe a female whereas the rectangular shaped tails are the male ones.
Aside from Pikachu, its evolution form, Raichu is also exhibiting the same circumstances, but the female Raichu has a dull tail tip instead of a pointy tail tip. There are no other Pokemon that have been discovered with this gender identity, however players should take note that the female Pikachu that had appeared are for the "Pokemon Go" players who don't have the update yet.
In previous Pokemon games, the gender difference allows players to breed a specific Pokemon that they'd like in a Day Care Center, where they will be given an egg to as the product of that breed. It is still not settled whether these changes are "purely cosmetic" or will lead to another exciting update for "Pokemon Go."
However, in the datamine of The Silph Road, they have discovered more Pokemon Gender codes that further support this specific feature where the players should be "getting close" in encountering them really soon. Stay tuned for more "Pokemon Go" updates here!
