It seems there is a new player waiting to get a break at adapting "Attack on Titan" into a US film. Warner Bros. is reported to be in negotiations to acquire the rights for the movie.

On January 17, Deadline reported that Warner Bros. is negotiating to get the feature rights for the Japanese manga "Attack on Titan." The manga was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama and has been released for both TV and films in Japan. The "Attack on Titan" project is for Warner Bros. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" producer David Heyman.

The "Attack on Titan" would be a remake of the Japanese film that was previously done in two installments. The first was in 2015, Part 1, which ranked as the seventh highest grossing film produced locally. Warner Bros. is hoping to develop another property out of the anime world succeeding that of Akira.

The Japanese "Attack on Titan" films based on Hajime Isayama's manga were released in Japan on August 1 and September 19, 2015. The first film earned about 600 million yen or around US$5 million during its opening weekend while the second earned 327,915,700 yen or roughly US$2.75 million. Funimation, according to AnimeNewsNetwork handled the release of "Attack on Titan" in theaters and on home video in North America by.

"Attack on Titan's" original manga has created two anime series, the second of which is scheduled to premiere in April. It will comprise numerous spinoff manga, several novel series, and a spin-off live action television series, among others. The spin-off manga, namely "Attack on Titan: No Regrets" and "Attack on Titan: Junior High" additionally got their own anime adaptations.

Hajime Isayama launched "Attack on Titan" manga in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009. Kodansha published the 21st volume in Japan on December 9 of the same year. Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in print in English. Crunchyroll, on the other hand, handles the "Attack on Titan" manga published digitally in English.
