Crossover fighting game "Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3" will be released for Xbox One and Windows PC on March 7 via Steam, this according to an announcement made by Capcom. Limited edition physical copies will also be released in North America for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on the same date.

"Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3" was first launched for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 way back November of 2011. Digital copies of the game along with "Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes" were however pulled out by Capcom shortly after the 2012 launch of the PS Vita version of the game.

According to reports, the pull out of the digital copies was because Walt Disney Company chose to no longer renew the licensing agreement it has with Capcom for the Marvel character. Walt Disney opted to pool the Marvel characters in the Disney Infinity series.

In 2016, Disney reportedly decided to put a stop to its self-publishing efforts and switch its focus to licensing-only model. This decision resulted in the cancellation of the Disney Infinity series and allowed Capcom to regain its license over the Marvel characters.

On Dec. 3, 2016, "Ultimate vs Capcom 3" was re-launched in front of a raving crowd at the PlayStation Experience event sponsored by Sony. Now, Capcom has confirmed that the game will be made available for the Xbox One and Windows PC game platform via steam starting on March 7.

The limited edition physical copies of "Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3" is said to be distributed exclusively by GameStop and EB Games. The steam copy will cost $24.99 while the physical copy will have a price tag of $29.99. Also, according to reports, Capcom is currently developing "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite" and is also targeting to release the new game from the "Marvel vs Capcom" franchise this year.
