The latest sales-increasing strategy adopted by Samsung is the launch of an all-new Olympic version of Galaxy S3. This will be a limited edition London 2012 Olympics Themed Galaxy S3, which will be available from August 1. This device will be sold exclusively in the UK.

Samsung is one of the official worldwide partners of London 2012 Olympics and has unveiled 2 versions of the smartphone viz., the marble white version bears the Team Great Britain (GB) logo in red and blue while the pebble blue version bears the Union Jack flag. Both versions also bear the famous Olympic rings and Team GB logo at the bottom.

Simon Stanford, vice president of telecommunications and networks at Samsung said "As a Worldwide Olympic Partner, we at Samsung want everyone to get behind Team GB and offer them support during the Olympic Games. We are delighted to be able to offer Carphone Warehouse customers the chance to own this exclusive London 2012 Samsung Galaxy SIII handset, combining the chance to support Team GB with owning a piece of cutting-edge Samsung technology."

Apart from the spectacular designs, Samsung has also added some highly useful features in the phone. These include the NFC chip serving as the hotel room keycard as well TV remote control for switching channels. All the other features are identical to the standard model. The London 2012 Samsung Galaxy S3 sports 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display, quad-core processor, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and runs the same Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Buyers have the liberty to choose their favorite carrier, which include Vodafone, Orange-T-Mobile, Talk Mobile, O2 or Three. What's more, Samsung is also offering the handset for free! All one needs to do is sign up for a new two-year contract that start at GBP28 a month. This Olympic-themed version of Samsung Galaxy S3 will be put on sale at Carphone Warehouse stores as well as online, starting from August 1. The device is expected to sell like hot cakes as anyone who loves the Union Jack, the Olympic Games or, for that matter, Samsung or Android, is expected to pick up the limited edition Galaxy S3 and keep it as a memorabilia.
