‘Deadpool 2’ Cast & Latest Updates: Ryan Reynolds’ Photo Might Have Shown Actor Chosen For Cable

Last year, Ryan Reynolds gifted Marvel fans with “Deadpool,” a raunchy R-rated superhero comedy. The film served as proof that comic book-based films with an R rating can succeed in the box office.

Since the release of “Deadpool,” fans have been anticipating for the release of “Deadpool 2.” At the post-credits scene of the last film, it was revealed that Cable will soon be joining the mix. Since then, the fans have been in a frenzy trying to figure out the actor who will fit the role best.

Just recently, the “Deadpool 2” cast lead posted a picture on his Instagram account. He posted a photo of himself, with Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan. Shortly after that, his social media account was bombarded with questions and comments regarding this image.

The fact that the “James Bond” legend was sandwiched between two of Marvel’s movie legends did not help in diffusing previous rumors. Multiple news outlets have already pointed out that Reynolds was teasing fans about Brosnan showing up in “Deadpool 2.” Either Reynolds was hinting at the official “Deadpool 2” cast, or he simply wanted to have a photo with Brosnan.

A report from Cinema Blend has stated that Keira Knightley’s name has also been added to the list of possible actors for Cable. It would appear that just about every name has been thrown into the bowl for the upcoming “Deadpool 2” cast.

“Deadpool 2” writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese revealed to Collider that they will not be grabbing other “X-Men” characters into the cast for cameos. According to them, the “Deadpool” franchise is “a gritty, grimy, smaller thing” with characters that most people are not familiar with.

“It is a bit like lovable losers,” they said. “It is not the A-list of superheroes, necessarily.” However, they did reiterate that the “occasional cameo or appearance by an A-list type person could be really funny or dramatic.” “So, we have an eye open for those things,” they added. "Deadpool 2" is expected to hit theaters in 2018.
