Booth and Brennan have returned to small screens for “Bones” Season 12. The on-screen couple is quite used to the danger associated with their work as crime investigators. However, the recent trailer released for “Bones” Season 12 shows the duo running away from what looks to be a huge explosion.

The preview showed that Brennan’s latest case will involve a certain animal that burrowed into the victim’s body - while the victim was still alive. It has become clear that the victim on her table was a subject of torture. As reported by Spoilers Guide, this particular case will also relate to the past of both Booth and Brennan.

“This is about revenge,” Booth said, as seen on the short trailer. After that statement, the video then cuts to the couple discovering a warehouse that is rigged with explosives. The “Bones” Season 12 antagonists barely make it out of there alive, but it remains unclear whether or not they sustained serious injuries following the blast.

“Bones” Season 12 will be the long-running show’s final season. That said, it is expected that the current season will deal with all loose ends within the show. Still, fans are hopeful about “Bones” Season 13, especially after it was revealed by showrunners that it was not their decision to wrap up the series.

“It was not our decision,” creator Hart Hanson said, according to TV Line. “We were told it was our last year. It was not that we called the network and said, ‘We would like to finish it.’”

Since its premiere, “Bones” Season 12 received a rating of 7.9 out of 10 from IMDb. 115,514 “Bones” Season 12 viewers submitted positive reviews of the show - 176 were random watchers, while 59 were TV critics. TV.com gave the show a 8.9 out of 10 rating, while Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 3.2 score out of 5.
