Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are expected to be reuniting in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, as this will be the show's final season. While The CW has not yet confirmed Dobrev's appearance in the series finale, Somerhalder recently shared his thoughts on the Delena connection during an interview with TVLine.
According to Somerhalder, Damon and Elena will always be connected in "TVD" Season 8 even though the latter has fallen to deep sleep. The actor explained that Damon acts in a way that he knows Elena would approve of because of her importance in his life.
"Because she is still the light in his life, even cast in the darkness of her absence," he shared.
Somerhalder also said that he has no idea whether or not Dobrev will return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. The publication notes that Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have already finished writing the series finale of The CW show.
Meanwhile, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports on the release of Dobrev's latest movie, "xXx: Return of Xander Cage." According to the outlet, Dobrev's film did not receive good reviews among critics nor did it perform well in ticket sales worldwide.
Despite the fact that Dobrev has been taking on roles from one movie to another, the actress still has not received the break she has been waiting for since she left "The Vampire Diaries." This made a lot of fans optimistic, however, that Dobrev will return for the series finale now that she is done with her current projects.
