‘Tekken 6’ Hits Xbox One Backward Compatibility; Will ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2’ Join Too? ‘Tekken 7’ To Ship This Year?
Caitlin MooreThree more games have made it to the Xbox One Backward Compatibility program and "Tekken 6" is said to be the most interesting addition. Seemingly, fans are still into the 2007 arcade fighting game and its sequel "Tekken 7," is believed to ship in home gaming consoles this year. Apart from Tekken, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" may possibly join the Xbox One Backward Compatibility games list as hinted by Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
"Midway Arcade Origins" and "Mutant Storm Empire" join "Tekken 6" in the newest Xbox One Backward Compatibility games list. But as pointed out by VG24/7, "Tekken 6" is one exciting addition to the lineup because players are still interested to see "Tekken 7" hit consoles in the first quarter of the year. Expected to become available for play in Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the ninth installment of the "Tekken" series was initially launched for Japanese arcades in 2015.
Meanwhile, Xbox Head Spencer surprised fans with an update about the possibility of adding "Call of Duty" titles to the Backward Compatibility program, Daily Star reported. In a response to a fan who expressed his hopes for "Black Ops 2" to make it to Xbox One BC list, Spencer made it clear that his team is aware of how players want the game to make it to the lineup. He also explained that he also wants to see the game hit the BC program.
@BlackOpsXboxOne Oh I see them, I see them daily on twitter. Team knows that a lot of people are passionate about these 2 in BC.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) January 17, 2017
The Xbox boss, however, cannot confirm which of the "Call of Duty" titles would become available on the Xbox One Backward Compatibility games list. That said, fans are advised not to get their hopes high for now until the developers release an official statement about the addition of the game to the lineup. In the meantime, leave us a comment below and tell us what titles would you like to see in the BC program in the future.
