Twitter Comes With New Improvements, Updates And The New Vine Camera App
Pia MerciTwitter has apparently announced that they would close the community site that is based on video sharing, alongside with the mobile apps. This eventually happened a couple days ago, however, simultaneously, the company made certain that the content which was created with the website's help will be kept. With that being said, some tools that could export those videos were offered to people and were made available on both the website and in the app.
Apparently, Twitter is taking further measures for saving the contents in Vine. With this, they have launched an online archive of Vine videos. As a matter of fact, it is a static website which has all the posts which were created from 2013 until 2016.
According to Neuro Gadget, when a company comes to a decision to cut its support for a certain product, which hasn't met the expectations of users, they usually make a public announcement regarding its closure date. Afterwards, they shut it down for good.
In other circumstances, the company sends notifications or alerts to its users of the said change and gives them the opportunity to save their data. In addition, some companies even suggest similar services to their users, which they use after their own app or website is halted.
However, in this situation, Twitter reportedly cannot let go of Vine. Though they have initially announced that the Vine site will be closed and the app will be deleted from the app stores, they affirmed that the said Vine app would apparently make a transition to a Vine Camera app that is said to be more utilitarian. This app was just released this week and has shown some looping short videos on Twitter as well, which indeed greatly resembles to the Vine.
Now, the company reportedly announced that they are releasing a Vine archive on the old website. Apparently alike to the old social network, the videos are categorized by genre such as art, animals, comedy, dance, edits, sports, music and even weird stuffs.
