Platinum Games revealed a new gameplay for its upcoming "NieR: Automata" showcasing new locations such as the abandoned amusement park, which screenshots were previously featured in Famitsu's weekly issue. It is not clear why the park is still operational even if it appears that it's being abandoned.

Another new location shown in the new gameplay is a ruined department store that is covered with foliage. Square Enix showcased the action RPG's latest footage that shows these new areas at Taipei Game Show 2017 and the footage begins with a little exploration at the 18:33 mark of the video where the abandoned amusement park is shown at 20:53 point although the studio didn't show much of the location, reports Siliconera.

"NieR: Automata" players will control multiple characters via an action-based gameplay set in an open world environment with the ability to rotate the in-game camera 360 degrees. The game shares the post-apocalyptic setting of the original game, which takes place right after the game's fourth ending and its story revolves around a war between the remnants of humanity and the machine army of intruders from a different world.

The main protagonist in "NieR: Automata" is YoRHa No. 2 Model B or 2B - a female model android who is known for being calm and composed and she is joined by 9S who shows more emotions compared to other YoRHa androids. She is also being observed by A2 who is an obsolete prototype android of 2B's line with a reserved personality who wants to act away from others.

NieR: Automata" is developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix. It is slated for release on Feb. 23 in Japan, North America on March 7 and Europe on March 10 for PlayStation 4 and sometime this year on PC.

The developers are considering releasing the game on Xbox One but it will depend on its success on PC and PS4, according to a report. Check out the video below to see the new "NieR: Automata" gameplay.
