'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Update: Pokemon Bank Finally Compatible, Here Is What You Need To Know About Transferring Old Pokemon!

Catherine G.

This is some great news for all the players, fans, and lovers of "Pokemon Sun and Moon". The players can now transfer their old Pokemon to the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game using Pokemon Bank.

Of course, this announcement comes with its own terms and conditions, and loopholes. Not all your favourite old Pokemon can be transferred. However, Pokemon creatures from Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, Y, or the 3DS Virtual Console versions of Red, Blue, and Yellow can now be freely transferred in "Pokemon Sun and Moon". Not just this, Nintendo is also being really kind and giving away Mewnium Z crystals to Pokemon Bank users.

What are Mewnium Z cyrstals? These are the Z Crystals for Mew. Nintendo has clarified that these Z Crystals only work in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game. However, the players can claim their Mewnium Z crystals until October 2, 2017. That means that there is still quite some time for the future players to get their respective "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game.

If the players are interested in getting their Pokemon from earlier versions (for instance, the Black and White version or any of their sequels), one can still transfer them to X, Y and Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire versions. Then they can mae an indirect transfer from these games to "Pokemon Sun and Moon". This indirect compatibility is also quite helpful. However, there is one caveat in this indirect process.

If the players transfer any Pokemon to "Pokemon Sun and Moon", they will not be able to transfer it back. The players are told to keep this in mind before any possible transfer. The Pokemon Bank is not a free service. They are charging an annual $5 fee for any and every services in that umbrella.
