Xbox Scorpio Update: 4K Resolution, Powerful GPU and More [Details Inside]

The upcoming Xbox Scorpio has already been tagged as the most powerful video game console ever built with the capability to provide a genuine 4K video game experience. However, aside from little details here and there, Microsoft Xbox has remained tight-lipped about its new game console.

From all the reports that have found its way on the internet so far, it can be said that the Xbox Scorpio is all about graphics. Xbox has promised to give video game players native or at least near-native 4K video game experience with the Project Scorpio.

Microsoft has already hinted that Xbox Scorpio will have the newest cutting edge tech even newer than what the current Sony flagship console, the PlayStation 4 pro, currently has. The Ps4 pro moves data at a blazing speed of 218gb per second, the Xbox Scorpio features a speed of up to 320gb per second. Also, Microsoft Xbox promises to outpace the 4.2 teraflops graphic processor of the Ps4 with a graphic processor that will reach 6 teraflops.

Reports also suggest that the Xbox Scorpio release date will be within the time frame that Microsoft launches its game consoles, presumably November. Pundits have already ruled out an Xbox Scorpio unveil at the E3 event in June.

Another Xbox Scorpio feature that is sure to entice buyers is that it comes with backward compatibility with games playable in Xbox One, thanks to Microsoft's universal platform project. Also, with the Microsoft universal platform, games that can be played on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio will also be playable in Windows 10 PC.

In an earlier report, Xbox's Phil Spencer stated that the Xbox Scorpio price will not be as expensive as gaming PCs. Spencer hinted that the Xbox Scorpio price will be as close as possible to the current top video game consoles. If this is the case, the Xbox Scorpio may just give Sony and its Ps4 a run for its money.
