'For Honor’ Guide To Berserker: Pros & Cons Of The Berserker Hero Class; Attack & Defense Strategies
Arianne GiftArmed with dual axes, "For Honor's" Berserker is one furious warrior, with light armor that allows agile movement. Berserker is the Viking version of the Assassin class, allowing players to take out enemies when mastered. Here's how to play as the merciless warrior.
Pros
"For Honor's" Berserker is as fluid as it is nimble. Its movement is diverse, which keeps enemies guessing continually. A players quick attacks sets off opponents easily, keeping them off-balance and on the defensive. This class is high in stamina that lets players take out a huge amount of enemies or beat the hell out of them relentlessly. In addition, its deflect ability allows players to turn enemy attacks against them.
Cons
A Berserker's total health is lower than most hero classes in "For Honor," and its axes are only good short-range, obviously. You have to be as close as possible to inflict damage. While the deflect ability is an advantage, it may also make blocking attacks trickier. Furthermore, one's heavy attacks can be slow unless the player is using them as part of a combo chain.
Attack Strategies of the Berserker
The Berserker's basic attacks are light and quick, and are highly useful for killing enemy soldiers and harassing other "For Honor" enemy heroes. For heavier damage, though, heavy attacks prove effective, but they are significantly slower. If you press the light and heavy attack buttons together, the Berserker will unleash its Zone Attack, which has the warrior spin around and hack anyone in range.
Defense Strategies of the Berserker
The Berserker's ability to deflect is a massive improvement over the regular block. According to ShackNews, deflecting is best paired with the infinite combo chain. Instead of adjusting to the direction of your block, a timing window is given as the enemy is attacking to press the block button and eventually deflect the attack. Once successful, initiate a Guard Break to throw the enemy off balance.
A tip from Ubisoft's "For Honor" Berserker forum described the Spinning Chop as "the best defense is sometimes a good offense." When initiated, the Spinning Chop can get players back on the offensive quickly. Do a dodge followed by a light attack, then dodge left or right and execute an overhead attack on the enemy. This lets players transition from offense to defense seamlessly.
