'Final Fantasy XV' DLC Update: Square Enix To Shed More Light On 'FFXV' Unannounced Expansion [VIDEO]
Vinay PatelIn their bid to keep avid gamers glued to "Final Fantasy XV," Square Enix is gearing up to roll out another downloadable content (DLC) for the huge fan base of the hit role-playing video game. The game developer is likely to shed more light on the upcoming DLC during this week's live stream event.
Square Enix has finally decided to spill the beans about what aces it has up its sleeve for "Final Fantasy XV" DLC and free updates that are slated to arrive for PS4 and Xbox One game during an upcoming live stream event. Due to the time difference, the New Year Special Final Fantasy XV Active Time Report, which is slated to commence on Feb. 2, will actually start Feb. 3 at 4 a.m. in the UK.
The event will comprise "FFXV" director Hajime Tabata along with marketing manager Akio Ofuji, who will be discussing the studio's plans for a new "Final Fantasy XV" DLC. If a rough translation (via Express) is anything to go by, fans can look forward to a video message from a mystery guest, in addition to more revelations about the latest update and DLC.
The new downloadable content may bring in more locations to the "FFXV's" already expansive world. Not too long ago, YouTuber Migl Siki discovered an uncharted region using some glitches in the Cartanica train station. Apparently, Square Enix may consider using this region in their upcoming DLCs. Another YouTuber known as Fotm Hero also came across an unexplored region using some shortcomings in Tenebrae, Pagla and more, according to Gaming Bolt.
Tabata himself did not leave a single opportunity to tease new details about the upcoming DLC expansions and also explain why the studio did not cease updating the game even after launch. According to Tabata, the reason it stirred conversations among avid "Final Fantasy" fans is because the studio announced that it will not discontinue updating a single-player game.
This model is yet to be established. Those who are used to playing classic "Final Fantasy" games are not likely to welcome this unfamiliar initiative. Nevertheless, Tabata suggests the studio's decision to updating single-player games, like they are currently doing with "Final Fantasy XV," will carry on in the future as a new trend.
Explaining what's in store for "Final Fantasy XV," Tabata told Famitsu that Square Enix plans to further evolve the game and the studio will evolve along with it. Stay tuned in here for more details on the upcoming DLC for "Final Fantasy XV."
