Court Orders Apple To Pay User For Malfunctioning Laptop & Failure To Repair; Over-Quoted Parts Questioned
Dannel Picaccio Camille Perez LozanoApple has been caught in another pickle recently; but, this time, it is not generated by numbers. A particular consumer has spoken up on the potentially faulty makings of the hardware she bought years ago -- and apparently won attempts at redemption.
According to The New Indian Express, Apple patron Nina P. Nayak brought her concern against Apple India to court, saying that the company did not address the breakdown issues about her laptop. The device, a MacBook Pro 13 that she purchased in Australia back in 2013, was said to have been troublesome for over eight months. On a positive note, the device is still under international warranty. Sadly, it was not fully repaired as expected.
Nayak said that the device became faulty again after only four days from the day it was supposedly repaired. She reportedly went on to seek the help of the support staff and was quoted Rs 61,100 (over $900), although the replacement of the flex cable is free. Nayak did not take matters lightly and pushed through with the case. The verdict came in favor of Nayak.
The court demanded that Apple pay her Rs 25,000 ($368), plus an additional Rs 10,000 ($100) for the legal fees and compensation for the repair or replacement of the unit.
In other Apple-related news, CEO Tim Cook is expected to boost the company to further growth this year, especially with a ratio that proved to be exceptional in 2016. As per CNBC, Apple has seen positive feedback from fans last year and the company confident that success is bound to come soon.
