"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" didn't fare well with critics, but fans loved the crossover film that featured Batman/ Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), Kal-el/ Superman/ Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman/ Diana Prince (Gal Gadot). The film also featured cameos from other characters that will take the center stage in upcoming films set in the steadily-growing DC Universe.

From 2017 to 2020, DC and Warner Bros. are set to release at least nine movies set in the DC Extended Universe, which could mean two new movies every year, per The Cheat Sheet. First in the lineup is 'Wonder Woman,' which is set for a June 2, 2017 release.

Gadot will reprise her role as Diana / Wonder Woman, and fans are already eager to see more of the actress who stole the limelight in last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." However, Diana's standalone movie will be a prequel of sorts since it during World War I and will focus on Wonder Woman's origins.

"Justice League Part One" and "Justice League Part Two" are slated for a November 17, 2017 and June 14, 2019 release, respectively. The movie will also feature the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/ The Flash, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/ Aquaman, and Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/ Cyborg.

The standalone film "The Flash" is slated for a 2018 release and will once again star Miller as the titular character. "Aquaman" will follow in October 5, 2018 and will star Momoa as Curry.

Meanwhile, it is rumored that an untitled solo Batman movie is slated for a 2018 release, and will be "the first installment in the allegedly planned trilogy." In April 5, 2019, "Shazam" will feature Dwayne Johnson as the titular character's rival Black Adam.

"Cyborg" will once again feature Fisher and is slated for an April 3, 2020 release date. "The Green Lantern Corps" will then hit the screens on June 19. 2020, but there is no word that Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Hal Jordan/ The Green Lantern. "Booster Gold" has no confirmed release date, but it was revealed that the film "will exist separate from the main timeline of the Justice League saga."

In other news, Den of Geek posits that "Gotham City Sirens" could feature Poison Ivy and Catwoman alongside Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. Other DC characters that could have their own solo movies include Deadshot and Lobo, while other upcoming movies will allegedly feature characters from Sandman, Dark Universe, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Metal Men.
