Sony is yet to confirm the name of its next smartphone. However, XperiaBlog reports that Sony's new smartphone will be named 'Sony Xperia TX.' Many users will not find the name very impressive but Xperia TX's specs will enable the device to stand out in the already crowded smartphone market.
Previous reports indicate that the Xperia TX will sport a 4.6-inch screen with 720 X 1280 display resolution. The smartphone will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM. The internal memory will be 16GB with the option to expand with a microSD card slot in tow. The Xperia TX will have a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. The power hungry specs will be boosted by the presence of a 2200mAh battery.
The smartphone will run on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system. It seems Sony smartphone enthusiasts who were hoping for the Jelly Bean 4.1 will have to wait for a while. The device will be 8.6mm thick and weigh 127gms.
Speculations are rife in the tech market that Japanese tech giant Sony will launch the Xperia TX on Aug. 29, the same day when the gizmo biggie Samsung is expected to launch the much-awaited Galaxy Note 2 in Berlin.
Sony is on track to entice smartphone users with its Xperia TX that packs one of the biggest smartphone cameras and the massive 2200mAh battery. The question remains if the features of the Xperia TX will be enough to rout tough competition from Samsung's and Apple's smartphones, which are due for a release soon.
