"Final Fantasy XII" was the last title from the franchise to come on PlayStation 2. It was first released in 2006 and, 11 years later, it will finally come to PlayStation 4 as a remastered version. "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" will be out in July this year.

Square Enix and the fans will be celebrating the franchise's 30th anniversary in December. To start the celebration, an event was held recently in Tokyo, where the announcement was made.

Apparently, there will be two specific dates for the "Final Fantasy XII" remastered HD version release. It will happen in July 11 for Europe and North America, while Japan and the rest of Asia will get their hands on the game in July 13.

What will "Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age" contain? Apart from remastering the original game to 1080p HD, there will also be updated environments, characters and cutscenes, according to Engadget. Even the sound will be defined in 7.1 surround.

A trial mode will also be included. This allows players to battle monsters up to 100 rounds consecutively. Even the battle design and job system were revamped, writes Gematsu, which has reportedly seen the full improvements on the game.

All in all, Square Enix improved the visuals, sound and the usability of the original "Final Fantasy XII" game. Storywise, everything will be the same, based on the synopsis that was released by the developers. However, with new characters coming, it is possible a few tweaks were done, making it a whole new experience even for old players.

For those who are excited to see what the remastered "FFXII" will offer, it will be playable on this year's E3 conference. This will happen on June 14 and 16 -- a month before the actual release of the game. Meanwhile, check out the trailer below.
