Hajime Tabata, game director, has recently unveiled in an interview that he is taking everything in mind about developing the city of Insomnia as a fully playable area in "Final Fantasy 15" DLC in the near future.

However, Tabata has confirmed as well that it might take at least one year for it to be fully developed and make it possibly happen. Tabata is also having an interest in a "Final Fantasy 15" DLC PC version with quest creator and mod support systems.

City of Insomnia

As per Gematsu's translation of the Famitsu interview, Tabata is considering the city of Insomnia if ever they are going to make new areas in "Final Fantasy 15". Unfortunately, Tabata also confirmed that it will take a year of work, which they cannot eventually deal with as of the moment. The team is reportedly working on new DLCs like a reworked chapter 13, new character episodes and a multiplayer expansion.

Insomnia's City Beauty

The city of Insomnia is a highly urbanized and certainly resembles real-world urban cities which are pretty familiar for fans that have seen the "Kingsglaive" movie. However, in the said movie, Niflheim conquers and destroys part of Insomnia.

Given that the Niflheim invasion in Kingsglaive has taken place during the early parts of the game, "Final Fantasy 15" players are only able to explore Insomnia's ruined version. In the game, the City of Insomnia is not explored as much as it should be, and only a small portion of the city can be seen by players.

Potentially, the city of Insomnia's design in the future DLC may possibly be modeled before the invasion, annexed by Niflheim, or ruined by daemons. It is surely what fans can certainly explore and enjoy.

Modified "Final Fantasy 15"

"Final Fantasy 15" may be a good chance for Square Enix to venture into the open world RPGs, which can be modified, similar to "The Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout". So far, the Final Fantasy series only had entries with mobage, turn-based strategy, active battle system, grid-based strategy and even a full-on MMORPG.

Square Enix may attempt to use their own take toward changeable open world RPG games considering that they will possibly make a PC version of "Final Fantasy 15". Meanwhile, watch this video below.
