Nintendo Wii U 'Project Giant Robot' Officially Discontinued, 'Legend Of Zelda' Last Nintendo Game For Wii U
JPThe "Project Giant Robot" Nintendo game is officially cancelled. The project was first announced during the 2014 E3. "Super Mario" game creator Shigeru Miyamoto is also the one responsible for the now cancelled Nintendo game.
"Project Giant Robot" was first seen in 2014 during the E3 event. During the event, Shigeru Miyamoto, demoed the Nintendo game. As demoed by Miyamoto, players of the game will be controlling a giant robot using the Wii U Game Pad.
The movement of the giant robot will be guided by motion controls. The Wii U Gamepad screen displays the environment in the perspective of the robot. A third person view of the environment is displayed in the TV screen.
Two other video games was also demoed alongside the "Project Giant Robot". These video games were released and are now known as "Star Fox Guard" and "Star Fox Zero".
The Nintendo Wii U Game has never been featured in any Nintendo event ever since the 2014 E3. The last time a hint of the "Project Giant Robot" was seen in the last Q3 Nintendo earning report on October 2016. Back then, the Wii U game was still listed as under development with a TBD release date.
In the latest Nintendo earning report released just recently, no trace of "Project Giant Robot" can be seen. This has led to speculations that the Nintendo video game project is already scrapped.
According to Polygon, Nintendo has confirmed that the video game will no longer be continued. The video game company said that the decision was made after considering the company's overall product and development strategy.
The cancellation of the "Project Giant Robot" Nintendo Wii U game is a proof that the video game company is already focusing its resources with the Nintendo Switch. Back in January, the video company announced that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be the last Nintendo game for the Wii U.
