'Fire Emblem Heroes' Makes $2.9M On First Day; Now Level With 'Super Mario Run,' But Not Beyond 'Pokemon Go' Yet
Dannel Picaccio Camille Perez Lozano"Fire Emblem Heroes" officially reached a massive milestone rather early, tallying unbelievable numbers alongside its Nintendo counterparts. Not only did it place well beside the company's key titles, it also met or surpassed other powerhouse applications on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
According to Sensor Tower, the newly released "Fire Emblem Heroes" has already raked in an astonishing $2.9 million worldwide in gross revenue. Downloads-wise, the game went over two million and counting, as seen from the first 24 hours of its release.
The numbers have immediately placed the game alongside the likes of Nintendo's "Super Mario Run" and Supercell's "Clash Royale;" although not beyond the Niantic Labs augmented reality gold mine "Pokemon Go." The latter showed $10.2 million, while "Super Mario Run" gathered $8.4 million from iOS App Store alone.
The game primarily captured its Japanese market, but has not ruled out the American territories and considers it as a second-place area. As Express reports, most games of the same genre still take over the Western crowds.
"But as one of the lesser known properties among non-hardcore gamers, especially in the West, we're definitely impressed by its standing with U.S. smartphone gamers so far. The initial players are likely to be the most diehard fans of the property, thus willing to spend more, and may not have progressed far enough into the game to really feel the need to monetize," the same Sensor Tower report said.
"Fire Emblem Heroes" is a strategic game that falls under the "Fire Emblem" franchise. It was recently made available for smart devices. Players will go on a quest comprising of two kingdoms, namely the Emblian Empire, which tries to take over multiple worlds, and the Askran Kingdom, which opposes that action.
