Cydia 1.1.28 Final Version Now Available, Tweak Purchases Has Been Enabled for iOS 10.2 Jailbreak; How to Update Cydia Version 1.1.28
Coco DollangangerJay Freeman a.k.a Saurik has finally released the Cydia 1.1.28 final version for jailbroken iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices following a thorough best testing phase that started in December 2016. Cydia 1.1.28 is the first version of Cydia that introduces 64-bit devices native support and full support for iOS 10 - 10.2 Yalu102 jailbreak.
The final version also means that users can now purchase tweaks from Cydia without any restrictions apart from using APT 1.14~b, which brings major changes to the core package management system used by Cydia. Reports say that the library that is also shared with Linux distributions like Debian and Ubuntu, is an industry standard that Cydia has been thrilled to share.
Cydia also has several patches to the old copy of APT that it had been making use of and it turned out that APT's upstream has been listening and excited to update everyone. Since purchases are now enabled, users might still find it hard to buy some of their favorite tweaks as developers will have to turn the purchasing of their tweaks on manually.
According to a report, those users who have not yet been updated for iOS 10 will remain disabled to prevent them from installing and undergo issues. It is recommended that all iOS 10 jailbreak users should update to the latest version of Cydia, which is available on the Cydia/Telesphoreo repo - one of Cydia's default repos. Users would be able to find the most recent update in the Changes tab once Cydia is refreshed.
Moreover, parts of the latest Cydia release are the usual bug fixes as well as improvements. Most notable is its support to jailbroken devices that run on older iOS versions like iOS 9, iOS 8, iOS 7 and below.
To update Cydia 1.1.28, launch Cydia and tap on Changes tab from the bottom bar then tap on Refresh on top left then wait for new packages to reload. Once it has reloaded, Cydia will prompt an Essential Upgrade, tap on Complete Upgrade to see the latest version.
