"Criminal Minds" Season 12 will soon be airing the episode titled "Spencer," which spoilers tease will change the course of events for one particular character. This led to speculations that Matthew Gray Gubler may soon be leaving the CBS drama following the recent firing of Thomas Gibson and the exit of Shemar Moore.

"Criminal Minds" Season 12 updates reveal that the CBS drama will be airing the episode bearing the name of Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). As Carter Matt reports, viewers are raising their concerns over the fate of Reid in the show because of the said episode title.

There have been previous episode titles under the name of certain characters, which meant the departure of that character in "Criminal Minds." The episode description from the publication also reveals that a BAU member will be finding him/herself in trouble while in Mexico.

This episode of "Criminal Minds" Season 12, however, could go in different ways aside from Gubler leaving the series. For example, Reid may simply want to go on a vacation now that his mother Diana is back or he may go take on a case from a different location in the meantime.

The upcoming episode and the fate of Reid in "Criminal Minds" Season 12 may also make or break the CBS drama. As TV Fanatic reports, the show recently hit its series low in ratings.

There have been rumors that "Criminal Minds" may be losing its viewership since the firing of Thomas Gibson as Hotch during the early part of the season. Several viewers threatened to stop watching the show if the network does not get Gibson back on the show.
