‘Destiny’ HotFix 2.5.0.2 Complete Patch Notes: Year 1 Hand Cannons Return, Hunter, Warlock & Titan Classes Modified [VIDEO]
Rei LantionBungie revealed it is focusing on weapons for this particular update -- and it wasn't lying. "Destiny" HotFix 2.5.0.2 has just gone live, and the full patch notes have been posted to Bungie's blog.
Players are already commenting on the power levels of some weapons, as well as some interesting changes to the Crucible. Adjustments have been made to the parameters for Special Ammo and Elimination gametypes, and Hand Cannons have returned with a sweet Year 1 accuracy buff. Check out the break down below.
Crucible Changes: Special Ammo Crates Every 60 Seconds, Elimination Time Limit Down to 90
One of the bigger changes made to the Crucible comes in the form of Eliminations, where the round time limit has been reduced to 90 seconds from the original 120. Players still receive Special ammo, but only during Round 1. According to Bungie's patch notes, Special ammo timing in Elimination gametypes has been adjusted to an initial 30 seconds, with 45-second respawns.
The Special ammo economy adjustment doesn't just apply to Elimination. For all game types, players start Crucible matches with Special ammo, but they lose them upon death. Only the sidearms are not affected by this change. Special ammo crates also appear every 60 seconds, and can be shared with allies within a 75m distance -- a significant decrease from the original 100m.
Weapons: Hand Cannons with Year 1 Accuracy, Auto Rifles Buffed, Shotguns Nerfed
The patch notes cite that Hand Cannons have "significantly increased initial accuracy." According to YouTube user My name is Byf, they've gotten the Year 1 accuracy buff and they're pretty on-point. Their Aim Assist and Magnetism have both been reduced at longer ranges, however, so that's something to keep in mind.
Auto Rifles, on the other hand, have gotten an increase in Precision Damage-now at 1.3x from the original 1.25x. They've also increased the air accuracy and base damage of low rate of fire for these weapons by 2.5 percent.
At first glance, Shotguns seem to have been dealt a blanket nerf, with their precision damage taken away and their air accuracy significantly reduced. It's worth noting, however, that they now also deal 20 percent more damage to combatants and the movement penalty has been taken out. Other notable changes is Reduced Universal Remote's Magazine size now up to 5, the rangefinder now increases ADS time by 25 percent, and the Universal Remote reloading time is longer.
Classes: Hunter, Warlock Titan
The Hunter's Throwing Knife now deals Solar Damage on impact. For the Titan Class, Juggernaut cannot be activated mid-air, and is automatically disabled once in the air for a short time. Bladedancers's Quick Draw Perk and Viper Totemic on Ophidian Aspect now grant huge increases to weapon handling speed instead of readying weapons instantly. Check out more details on the official patch notes.
The latest "Destiny" HotFix 2.5.0.2 has also made some general adjustments to every class. Guardians with Armor values above 10 now have reduced Health, and Blink now disables both a player's HUD and Radar for a short time after activation. Flux Grenade, Magnetic Grenade, and Shoulder Charge all have increased damage to, according to the patch notes, "ensure effectiveness across all Armor values."
