'Destiny 2' News: Fall 2017 Launch Set With These Confirmed Features; PC Release Highly Likely

JEV

Acclaimed developer Bungie is gearing up toward the confirmed release of "Destiny 2" in Q3 of 2017. The massively successful "Destiny" game has called for the development of the sequel .

The arrival of "Destiny 2" takes a few more months from now and for those who have been itching for the sequel, it's quite a long wait. But first, here's a look at the game's release date, price as well as the game's confirmed features so far.

Release Date and Price

Bungie has first set "Destiny 2" to launch in 2016, roughly two years after the release of the first title. However, it decided to move the date further to 2017 to purposely have more time to polish and create a sequel that will surely delight its fanbase.

In long absence of any recent news, some reports say that there will be a delay but the developer was quick to debunk the rumor and reiterate the game's release will happen in 2017, around Fall season. As for the price, it remains unconfirmed until now but it is predicted to have the same price as that of "Destiny" at £49.99/$59.99.

Confirmed Features

Both Activision and Bungie like to keep things under wraps and so, details are quite scarce at this point. But these are the four features that have been confirmed for the sequel, according to Tech Radar.

Cinematic Story as cornerstone. Activision executive Eric Hirshberg confirmed earlier that the development team will put focus on the story and the characters. Hirshberg mentioned that the cornerstone is a great cinematic story and relatable characters.

More expansions and updates. Similar to the whole bunch of updates and DLC packs provided for "Destiny", the follow-up game is planned to be rich with more expansion plans, new set of add-ons and updates post-launch, as reported by Games Radar.

Accessibility for casual players. Bungie desires to make its second title more accessible to every gaming fanatic but not to the extent depriving the harcore gamers of what they've come to love about the first-person shooter.

"Destiny 2" is coming to Xbox One and PS4 but will no longer support Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC launch, as per reports, now seems highly likely when Bungie stated that it also aims to reach more players.
