'Watch Dogs 2' Patch Extends Ending Cutscene; May Have Clues For 'Watch Dogs 3'
Nicole T.Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" recently had a patch filled with upgrades for the game. The patch fixed bugs and had several surprises for gamers including new clothing. It also tweaked the game's system a bit and poised "Watch Dogs 2" for upcoming contents. However, the ending of the game also got an extension.
Fans were surprised when the ending cutscene did not end the way it was supposed to be. Although the "Watch Dogs 2" ending after the patch remained the same as before, an extended dialogue was added.
Both the 10GB patch for Xbox One and the 14GB patch for PS4 contained the extended "Watch Dogs 2" ending. Ubisoft has actually addressed this and it was an intended addition. According to Game Rant, the developers posted about it and said that players should replay the last mission if they were able to finish the story.
The extended "Watch Dogs 2" ending only added a few seconds to the original one. However, it contained some coordinates that Kotaku soon found out located in Brixton area of London. This led to speculations that either it is the hint of the setting for an upcoming DLC or "Watch Dogs 3."
Apparently, the upcoming "Watch Dogs 2" DLC will be set in San Francisco. That caused confusion among fans, with subreddit threads getting flooded with the mysterious dialogue and coordinates.
A Ubisoft rep was asked about the matter. "The production team wanted to include a little something extra at the end of the campaign to expand the 'Watch Dogs' lore and hint at the potential future of DedSec," they replied. At this point of time, the biggest speculation is that London will be the setting for the next "Watch Dog 3" game.
However, "Watch Dogs 2" was lacklustre compared to the first entry of the franchise. So, it could be a while before news about a third installment pops up. As of now, the developers are focusing on adding content and improving the game.
