'Tekken 7' Xbox One, PS4, PC Update: Bandai Namco Confirms 'Special Contents' for Paid Future DLCs, Free Updates Coming
JEV"Tekken 7" will not be adding any classic characters as paid downloadable contents but will add "special characters" instead. This is what Michael Murray answered to an inquiry of the game's fan on Twitter verifying game director Katsuhiro Harada's statement about the game's future DLCs.
Harada confirmed earlier that they will not feature classic characters on the game's downloadable contents. "Mr. Harada said classic characters won't be paid DLC, does that mean the 2 preorder characters are new characters??," tweets a fan named Ruri.
Murray, who is one of the game's designers, replied that the question is "tough to answer." But he spilled out some information about the upcoming paid DLCs who also tweeted that "special characters" are coming instead of the classic ones.
Here is his tweet below:

Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed via Twitter that Bandai Namco will not feature classic characters on the "Tekken 7" future DLCs. The developer instead will offer "special contents" for those who wanted to purchase upcoming expansion packs, iTech Post reported earlier.
In an interview with IGN, Harada said that players who purchased a season pass will get exclusive costumes, a unique game mode, 30 metallic costumes and special characters. The game director also mentioned about a free update but no additional details about it were given yet.
An updated arcade version of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" was first released in Japan in July last year. The original arcade version was released in March 2015 also in Japan. Fated Retribution featured new contents such as costumes, new stages, new items and new characters. Two new characters added in the arcade version are Akuma from the "Street Fighter" series and Master Raven from the Tekken series.
Reports say that it is the "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" version that will be launched to PS4, Xbox One and PC in June. According to most recent announcement from Bandai Namco, it will require at least 42GB of free space on the PS4 console. The European PlayStation Store mentions a bigger free space, which is about at least 45GB of data is required for the game. With less than five months to go, there is still some possibilty for further announcements in between.
